Happy Birthday to our Massachusetts Wrestling Association Freestyle Director for Team Mass, Matt Dehney!!

A four-time state qualifier and was nationally ranked by Wrestling USA magazine. Put up first and third-place finishes at the New England Championships and finished eighth at the rigorous Super 32 tournament. Was a Massachusetts National Team member four times and won 150 matches at Dracut High School, including 48 wins his senior year with only one loss.

Dehney went on to wrestle Division I in college at the University of Buffalo and then to become head wrestling coach at Dracut High School and coach for Doughboy Wrestling Club. Dehney was inducted into the Dracut Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021.
